Answer:
1.
what we need in understanding foreign cultures
to avoid cultural conflicts is cross-cultural communication and finding out
about a foreign culture. Cross-cultural communication is a process where ideas
or ideas from one culture are transferred to another culture and vice versa,
and this can be between two related cultures or more, the goal is to influence
each other, be it for the good of culture or to destroy a culture, or it could be
the initial stage of the acculturation process (the merging of two or more
cultures which produces a new culture) "
2.
culture in our area or country, Indonesia is
very different from foreign cultures. starting from the language used, accent,
how to speak, how to dress and also behave. So in my opinion, local and foreign
cultures do not need to be integrated in order to avoid distortion in the
environment. However, we must understand and respect the cultural diversity of
each region or country.
3.
stereotypes are excessive generalizations about
someone based on the characteristics that exist in the group (race, ethnicity,
or religion). whereas prejudice is a negative attitude, belief and judgment
towards a group and all its members.
Is it in your local culture? still available.
Ex:
·
stereotypes in our local culture are such as “UI
students (Indonesian universities) are smart people”, so when we meet a UI
student, that person immediately assumes that UI students are smart people.
Even though the student is not necessarily that person.
·
prejudice in our local culture, for example,
because of the opinion that "Minang people are stingy", one might
think that all Minang people are stingy.
